Minneapolis Still Seeks Volunteers for "We Want You Back"

The city of Minneapolis and Minneapolis Public Schools is putting out another call for volunteers to reach out to students who have dropped out of school.

It's part of the "We Want You Back" campaign. 5 Eyewitness News told you about it earlier in August. It's an effort to find students who have dropped out of school and encourage them to return to classes.

On September 11, volunteers will spread out across Minneapolis to knock on doors in an effort reach students who have dropped out and get them to re-enroll on the spot.

Volunteer training will be held in the morning and afternoon, before door-knocking sessions. Voluneers must undergo a free background check because they'll be interacting with young people.
