Volunteers to try and get kids back to school | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Minneapolis Public School District is in the midst of a public-service campaign called "We Want You Back."
The goal is to get students who have dropped out of school to return and resume the path to graduation. PSA's, including one taped Thursday with Mayor R.T. Rybak and the hip-hop artist Brother Ali, will begin airing in the next few weeks.
On Sept. 11, volunteers will fan out across the city in an unprecedented door-to-door effort to get kids back in school. The goal of the campaign is to get at least 200 kids to return. The city is still looking for volunteers. If you'd like more information on the campaign, visit wewantyoubackmpls.org.
